En Masque

I always get a little worried when I like how picture comes out of my computer, and then it looks lower quality when I look at it on my iPod touch. I guess if it looks good on at least one computer I can sleep at night. xD

My friend has these creatures called Masques, and the basic concept of them is that they visually represent the true soul/spirit of the person they represent.
My Masque is basically my persona on hyperdrive, but a bit more removed from physical reality and just a bit more tucked away into the recesses of my brain.

Fish are pretty removed from the reality we know- they are constantly submerged and surrounded by water, they can SMELL underwater, and most of them would die if left on land for more than a few minutes. They really must live in their own world.
When I sit and watch a Koi pond, I can't help but wonder if they even know or care that I exist. They always seem to be looking forward and slowly but surely going in one direction. I'm so engrossed watching them, and they don't even notice.

On the other hand, along with insects, fish are probably some most underappreciated organisms. They're hardly looked upon with the same affection as one looks down on kittens and other mammals, and a lot of people are very put off by them. They provide critical omega threes and proteins, and in turn we pollute their oceans. Doesn't seem like a fair trade off.

If it wasn't obvious, I took lots of inspiration from the appearance of koi, and also utilized the yonic/almond/fish symbol, the female counterpart to the phallic symbol. The phallic symbols pass by without so much as a blink but a yonic symbol in Western civilizations and the causing quite a lot of stress outside of its typical religious placement, yet it symbolizes something just as vital as a phallic symbol. (See "mandorla", and almond shaped aura often depicted in Byzantine mosaics.)
